Burnt. Dried. Tired.

Just back from a day's work at National Stadium. Was there to help out in the assembly of the fireworks in preparation for the National Day Preview. =)

Worked under the sun from morning till 5pm. Basically doing very little actually. Help connect the wires to the fireworks and some odds jobs here and there. Gonna go back tomorrow again to watch the fireworks display.

Didn't know so much work goes on behind the scenes for a National Day. Saw the rehearsals by the many different groups of performers. Well.. it is hard work week after week for them. Working under the hot sun. Getting shouted at by their instructors. Repeats after repeats of the same thing. Getting the coordinations right (it isn't so easy if you are working with 100 people). One such large group was the singing segment by a group of secondary school students (heard was from Tanjong Katong Girls School). There is about 80 in the group. They rehearsed for the entire evening, about a dozen times. Their actions were already showtime-ready and were continuing practising hard for their performance.

With so many hard at work, how can you miss the show? Be sure to catch it live!

What a Day!

First, I was late for work. I woke up at 7am, more than 30 minutes later than I should have. I start work at 8am. I rushed to get prepared in 20 minutes and well... gotta waste money to take cab to camp. It cost ten bucks to reach camp and it is another ten bucks wasted.

Next, it is a super busy day today. There is a whole lot of stores coming in and another chunk going out. Basked under the sun from 9:30am to 3pm. WHEW! It is hot, sweaty and smelly. As always, it is nothing but dirty work in camp.

Next, there is no dinner at home! Ever since my maid was given the sack, I have been either buying out or cooking noodles at home for dinner. Today was no exception. Feeling sticky all over, I dragged myself to the kopitiam and bought a takeaway of seafood soup with rice. A hungry man is an angry man. But an angry man still got to eat.

Lastly, I got a terrible itchy insect bite on my foot. It itchs like hell. Felt better after I scratched it a thousand times. Haha.

Tiring day today. Think I am going to sleep at 8pm.. zZzZZz...

Day After Duty

Just finished my lunch of burger and fries... from MacDonald's of course. Always good to be home after staying in camp for 28 hours. There's no one at home though. Parents at work. Both sisters in school. Well.. just the empty house and poor me. Might as well.. no one to disturb my beauty sleep later on. I need lots of sleep. 8 hours a day everyday to be exact.

Agenda for tonight: Clubbing at Double O. Thongs Nite! Stay tuned for more..

Do you ever had a penpal? Someone you have not seen before. Someone you have not spoke to. I have one. She messaged me on this fine afternoon through Friendster. Her Friendster profile did not have a picture. It seems like she felt lonely and was messaging en masse. I responded like I always do with a polite 'Hi'. Thereafter I was exchanging emails with her. It feels like filming a drama and I told her things which I would not delibrately tell my friends. Do not get me wrong. I am not hiding any secrets but well, you just did not ask. She asked. She asked me lots and lots of questions. With each email, she was asking questions like she really wanted to know me. I asked her questions too. Personal questions as well as the usuals. I wrote freely and without worries. She does not know me nor do I know her. Well, I do not think we are ever gonna meet anyway.

whew.. just came back from Double O. Quite boring really. Sharon was bored to tears. I was alright. The crowd was the usual but the music sucks. Quite an overdose of R & B. And there was no thongs either. Instead, there was a group of transvestite.. ewheWw...

First Entry

So sad.. my sister is moving to her university hall this year. I hated her before but still I love her most of the time. We had many quarrels, fights, nasty encounters and moments we would regret later but they are in the past now. We had grown up.

I love all my friends too. I apologise if I had been an liar/asshole/hypocrite before. I appreciate all that you had done for me and I would never take any friend for granted. This is my promise.

To those who had been a liar/asshole/hypocrite to me, I try to forgive you the way I hope I would be forgiven. It is not easy to gain forgiveness nor is it easy to forgive. When you are hurt, it hurts only as deep as you would allow it. Sometimes one cry when they are hurt, sometimes one cry when they are overjoyed. I don't cry much, nope.. I am too strong for it. At least I pretend to be. Life is a lot of pretence eh?

Anyway.. trying to forget all the sad things in life. Watched I,Robot today with Ben. Decent show. A lot like Artificial Intelligence. Set in the year 2035 when robots replace human maids and Converse shoes considered vintage. About a new generation of robots which had evolved to a new level capable of controlling humanity. Of course no hero would allow that to happen. Will Smith saves the day with a good old-fashion motorbike.

Met up with Alex, Shijie and unexpectedly.. Sharon. Dinner at Clementi followed by drinks at MacDonald's where we met our unexpected guest. Had a long lively chat till 11.15pm. Returned home safe and dry before midnight.
