Flashback - Korea

Nothing to report today. Late for work yesterday. Woke up at 7am. Took cab to camp. Paid 9 bucks for the fare. Already very broke for the month liao. Lucky rain in the morning, no need to work. Super no mood for work.

Was flipping through old photographs on my computer. Saw my Korea holiday album taken in December 2003. Took this nicely taken photograph of my family. Taken in one of the big amusement park in Seoul. A very different and enjoyable experience, to be able to play those games in full winter attire. The best thing about wearing the four layer of clothes is that they made me look fat. Haha. I look muscular in the thick winter jacket. Plus the Gortex gloves, look very professional. Haha.

From left: Yiming (younger sister), Dad , Mom, Me, Yichun (youngest sister).

Below is a picture taken from the plane. Flying on Korea's domestic airline, Korean Air, I snapped this ariel view of Korea's landscape. It would make a good case study picture for secondary school's geography lesson. Note the river, highlands, scattered settlements and transportation routes.

From the plane: Rugged view of Korea's landscape.

Photo from Jeju island. Form the southern tip of Korea is this famous island. I braved strong, cold winds to reach the submit of this hill. Had not bought my cap yet during the first day of the trip. I had to use a japanese looking cap, something like Southpark except it is leather made! looked damn funny. But bo bian, its too damn cold for the ears when the cold wind blew. Did I forget to mention it is winter time? The snow kept following our tour coach when going round the island. Unusual for the island to snow at that time the of the month. Winter came early for Jeju that year, said the tour guide.

Edge of the town.

Night Out

Just finished kpoi session with Zhenguo, Desmond and Yunhong. Went back to camp before that.

The 3 ORD personnels wanted to take back their field packs as mentioned in the previous post. Yunhong also took back his duffel bag. Most of the guard duty people were already in bed when we arrived at about 11:30pm. Nevermind then. Save the trouble of buying supper for them. We were quick about our business and off to Bukit Timah Shopping Centre for a round of snooker. Loser punch.

Zhenguo and Desmond were a comical pair. Zhenguo was winning the first round and very yaya about it. But when it came to the second round when he was losing, all the poor sportsmanship traits came out. Haha. No more Mr Nice Guy. But in the end he still win by potting the last black. Yunhong still very amateur in snooker. Desmond just plain unlucky. Yunhong kept guarding him until he has absolutely no balls to pot. Forgot to mention is last two punch. I came second in the first round and first in the second round. Not bad eh?

When to nearby Ala-Meen kopitiam for coffee after the game. Long time never talk cock with them liao. Zhenguo October 11th ORD while Desmond October 25th. Yunhong is the last of the 3 at 1st December but he clearing leave next week. Zhenguo currently working part-time for NCS at $7 per hour. Not bad for a relaxing job. He does migration of Operating Systems for NCS's clients. Simply put, upgrade computer from Windows 95 to Windows XP plus some technical support stuff. Desmond is jobless while Yunhong is studying for his ACCA certificate.

Very late liao. Go sleep liao. Tomorrow duty. Sian..

Gr...

Just realised I missed Jurrasic Park yesterday night. fuck. nevermind.. I had watched it 9 times already anyway.

Going back to camp later. My asshole about-to-ORD friends wanna take back their field packs. Only I got driving license (and car) among them, so....

Then buy back supper for the poor guard duty personnels also. Sad sia.. now no duty off liao. Only guard rest till 12pm the next day. The high number (6 to 8 per month per guard personnel) of duties in my camp is gonna take its toll on the guards with no duty off for them.

Friendster

My Friendster account has been very quietly recently! No new messages, no new testimonials, no friends request! What the hell is happening? Did Friendster suspense my account because I never pay the electric bill? Anyway just promoting myself a little bit lah ah.. haha. There got a more complete profile of myself. Plus testimonials from many of my close friends. Although all Friendster testimonials should be taken will a little bit of salt, they give you a rough idea of how the guy/gal is like. In this case I am ok. I read some testimonials which the writer really criticise the person they are writing for. Damn funny.

AHM + Badminton

I met Kelvin they all on Saturday night at about 11pm. They have this crazy idea of meeting up before the run today and staying out till the meeting time of 4:45am for the 21km half marathon. So I went along as I always do. First I went to Yew Tee MRT station to pick up Kelvin and Cai before heading to Cineleisure when we met up with the rest.

Was planning to watch White Chicks but only the first row of seats avaliable so we abandoned the idea. Went to Geylang for supper instead. Ate dim sum at this nice little restaurant along Lorong 17. Forgot the name liao. Went to eat before with Alex and Shijie. Went for a little sight-seeing around the area but not many white chicks around. Haha. Think police working overtime.

Marina South

Anyway, we went off to our next destination after a while. It was around 2am. Still with about 3 hours to waste. Went to Marina South to play arcade. Ya.. we were this bo liao. There is this shooting game with rifles. The gameplay is like Saving Private Ryan. First, you embark on a beach then shoot your way into enemy territories. I seldom play arcade games so don't know about these games. Anyway it was very fun and expensive. $1.50 per player with maximum of 4 players.

The Padang

Finally reached Padang at 3:30am. There already hundreds of participants there. Kiasu ah...

Waited patiently for the rest to arrive before starting the run at 6:15am. I am in the 5km category so I waited for the guys to arrive. I only need to reach at 6:45am but already with the 21km guys so no point going home.

So they arrive at 6:45am then started the run at 8am. By then, the sun was high up and damn hot! There were like thousands of people running together it was impossible to run in the early stages. The 6 of us walked the entire 5km. Some idiot officer from the same formation scolded us for walking in our formation running vest but we coudn't care less.

Badminton @ Clementi Sports Hall

Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm - $3.50 per hour.
Monday to Friday 6pm to 10pm, Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays - $7.40 per hour.

The run ended at 10am and I reached home at 11am. Slept all the way till 4pm. Meeting Alex and Weifen they all for badminton later. Doesn't the thought of it make you super tired already?

First round with Alex from 6pm to 7pm. Second round from 8pm to 10pm with the addition of Weifen, Jerry, Sharon and her boyfriend Alex (another one, there are 2 Alexs in the group now). Seems like they have all got this sudden interest in badminton. Sharon told me she prefers badminton to clubbing! Isn't that a first!?

Returned home shagged. Got some major work to do in camp tomorrow. Then today's 21km runners get an automatic rest day tomorrow. So we will be missing the services of many men tomorrow. It's gonna be busy.. Monday blues..

Saturday, September 25

Saturday!

Just finished playing snooker with Alex. West Coast Recreation Centre having this free two hour promotion. From July this year, they are allowing customers to play for free from 10am to 12pm everyday. The only condition is you have to have at least another person with you when playing, else they would charge.

So I met Alex at 11am straight after I reach home after my duty. Damn shagged!

Played for a couple of hours. 5 games in total. Not too bad. Did not hit a bad patch of form. Alex was as sharp as ever. Went for lunch at Clementi Central. The usual place at the dark sesame oil chicken stall. The name sounds funny when you typed in out. Not sure it is correct. But anyway.. you get the idea. That stall also sells chicken curry, mutton soup and dark sesame mutton. One of the most popular stall in that area.

Went for a look-around at the pasar malam. Was indignant at seeing the prices on the shorts. They are lower than those at Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown! A pair of beach wear bermudas cost RM15 there but only $5 here! And we thought it was already very cheap in Malaysia! Grrrr...! Alex and I swore never to go shopping at K.L.'s Chinatown again. I would be very angry if I see the lighter I bought at K.L. going for lesser here. So far not yet and I hope not to.

Tired with the walking and conserving energy for tomorrow's 6km run, we headed home at around 2:30pm. Alex was kind enough to accompany me while waiting for my bus to arrive. Had a small fitness plan between us. Alex wanted to pick up badminton and be well versed enough to beat the average Joe. Maybe go play again on Monday after a workout in the gym. Not confirmed. See if I am able to take off on Monday. Should be tired out after the run and badminton with Weifen they all tomorrow.

Army Half Marathon @ The Padang / National Stadium

Army Half Marathon is tomorrow! Have you registered for it? Yes, it is open to the public too. Only $5 and you get a goodie bag as well. The 21km competitive run kicks off at about 6am tomorrow. The 12km and 6km fun run starts at about 2 hours later.

Running attire for Supply and Transport Formation.

Got them through E-Mart. Value of $15 for the set. Gotta thanks Guojian for his E-Mart credits. Anyway he has lots of them unused and he is receving combatant's amount (meaning much more than logistics personnels like me).

Note the running shorts. It's damn short and sexy! Haha. It's gonna reveal too much of my hairy legs tomorrow. Hahaha!

Thursday, September 23

Rest. REST. REST!

I need more of it.

Enjoying a bowl of tom yam noodles with all the works, prawns and sliced fish cakes. Nicely snugged up in my room, air-conditioned on. Its been a long time since I enjoyed an afternoon at home. Ever since the appointment of a new OC and the rigid regulations that tagged along, off has been harder than ever to earn. Nevemind.. I am going to ORD soon, just pitying the newcomers.

Tomorrow's duty should be a relaxed one. Lots of friendlies on duty tomorrow.

Duty Orderly Sergeant - 2SG Daniel. Nice guy. Good temper. Perhaps he was fucked up in the past, he had changed for the better ever since taking on the role of 2IC storage platoon.

Guard Commander - Cai Lian Sin. Mild mannered. Always bubbly and increasingly insane perhaps due to his ORD date drawing closer.

Guard - Yunhong. Nice guy too. A good nature, cheerful guy who thinks he is Jay Chou and has Selina and Hebe as girlfriends.

Driver - Kelvin. Has a sense of humor. Gets along well with majority of camp mates. Been out on numerous occasions for coffee.

One of the best line ups ever since the departures of Stanley, Zhenguo and Soh Kah Hong.

IPPT

Just reached home. Then my block is having some sort of cleaning and maybe repainting thing going on. So I have to close my room's windows while typing out this blog. Damn hot you know?

IPPT passed! Nothing much to boast about, but it is a pass! No more nagging from OC to go for Remedial Training after office hours. Sucks ah.. those that failed have to stay back every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for running. And.. no off for those who passed! Only half day off for those who got silver and 1 day for gold. Stingy OC I must say. I did not get silver coz I did not train for this test. My 2.4km timing is a very very poor 12:16. Yes.. I just barely made it and I am the first to admit it is an unacceptable result. I scored pretty well for the static stations though. 9.6 seconds for shuttle run, 8 pull ups (I could do more but no use since I know my running cant make it), 239cm on first attempt for standing board jump and 34 sit ups.

Been posting lousy entries these few days. Been tired out with those unimportant camp stuff lately. The tireness just grew and grew. Even dozed off yesterday while uploading the pictures from Ben's birthday. Think I knocked out at 10:15pm. Go bathe now. More updates later.

Tiring Day

Went to Sembawang Camp for Mess Happy Hour. It is a sort of gathering for 3rd rank and above. From time to time, about once a month, the unit would organise such gatherings in our unit headquarters' function room. People from from all sub-units would gather to drink and make merry. Some love these kind of events while others hate to attend them. I am one such person who hate these kind of occasion. Been forced to attend such things though. Not much of a choice when you are in the army.

Managed to sneak away at 8pm. The official dismmisal time is 10pm.

Happy Birthday Ben!

Belated but still.. HAPPY 22TH BIRTHDAY BEN~!!!

Here are the three best pictures we took that day. Although we had taken about a dozen photographs, only these three made the cut. Haha! I am not a professional photographers and you guys have to make do with the high number of No Goods (NGs).

DJ and Ben strikes a pose.

The three of us and our lonely drinks.

DJ makes a face at the camera. Ben finished the bulk of the snacks.

Buzi

Busy today.. took half day supposedly to go down Sembawang Camp to buy running vest for this Sunday's army half marathon but decided to go car seeing instead. When I reached home, Ben called me and asked if I am free today. I suddenly remembered that it is his birthday today. Forgetful me! I went to his birthday celebration instead of seeing the car.

Before that I had to pass Kelvin some documents. Met him at Chua Chu Kang MRT station before heading to Clemnti Partyworld to join Ben and DJ for the KTV. They took the 6 drinks package and I got to enjoy their new mango fruity freeze~. Its good! Rich in taste. We sang for a good four hours before Ben had to go home to celebrate with his family.

Still got Happy Hour tomorrow. Followed by IPPT on Thursday. Duty on Friday. 5km run on Sunday. Busy week.

Fisherman Village

Went there to chill out with Tiffany, Adrian, Elson, Christine, Kenneth and his girlfriend.

Had a difficult time finding that place (I drove). Went on PIE. Exited wrongly through Simei I think. Then don't know how went to Bedok, Tampines, and Pasir Ris and finally found the damn TPE. Went in and exited shortly through Elias exit. From there it was relatively easy.

They were already there. I was late waiting for father to lend me the car. They were already tucking in. Anyway I ordered a bottle or Strobe; alcoholic fruity energy drink. Pretty sweet too, I like. Haha.

Went on to talk cock for a couple of hours. Talked about cars. Elson wanna go racing in Sepang, Malaysia. He is thinking about working after ORD this December and getting an Integra. Well.. I don't know how he would manage that but wish him all the best. Adrian was happy-go-lucky as usual. Found out that he is the Dy S3 of 21SA, the same unit as Shijie. Tiffany updated us on her current situation with her future husband. They are thinking of getting married late next year. They had been together for four years now. Wow.. that is a long time. Kenneth ORDed this June and had taken on two jobs since. None found to be exactly appealing and is jobless now. His girlfriend is 27 and working as a trainee in UOB. Wish them all the best too.

Time to go home. They sat in my car for the first time. Tiffany was pretty curious about my driving skills. I showed her how a F1 driver drives a Corrolla. Haha. She thinks all P-plate drivers are lousy amatuers. She thought otherwise after I showed her my driving talent. She was pretty impressed. BHB! Haha!

Anyway, I lost my way after I dropped her at Tanan Merah. Missed the CTE entrance towards city. Went on a longer route to Bishan and Ang Moh Kio. Found it and drove Christine home. She lives in Bukit Purmei. Ya.. I also don't know where that is until now. It is somewhere at Telok Blangah. It is Elson's turn after that. He lives in Jurong East so no problem there. Finally got home at 2am. Whew.. duty later. Gotta be a sleepy duty again.

Unselfish Love

There was once this guy who is very much in love with his girl. This romantic guy folded 1,000 pieces of paper cranes as a gift to his girl. Although, at that time he was just a small fry in his company, his future doesn't seem too bright, they were very happy together. Until one day, his girl told him she was going to Paris and will never come back. She also told him that she cannot visualize any future for the both of them, so they went their own ways there and then.

Heartbroken, the guy agreed. But when he regained his confidence, he worked hard day and night, slogging his body and mind just to make something out of himself. Finally with all the hard work and the help of friends, this guy had set up his own company.

One rainy day, while this guy was driving, he saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella in the rain walking to some destination. Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn't take him long to realize they were his girl's parents. With a heart in getting back at them, he drove slowly beside the couple, wanting them to spot him in his luxury sedan.

He wanted them to know that he wasn't the same anymore, he had his own company, car, condo, etc. He made it! What he saw next confused him, the couple was walking towards a cemetery, and so he got out of his car and followed and he saw his girl, a photograph of her smiling sweetly as ever at him from her tombstone and he saw his paper cranes right beside her.

Her parents saw him. He asked them why had this happened. They explained. She did not leave for France at all. She was ill with cancer. She had believed that he will make it someday, but she did not want to be his obstacle. Therefore she had chosen to leave him. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. She had wanted her parents to put his paper cranes beside her, because, if the day comes when fate brings him to her again, he can take some of those back with him. Once you have loved, you will always love. For what's in your mind may escape but what's in your heart will remain forever.

The guy just wept. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right besides her knowing you can't have her, see her or be with her ever again. Hope you understand.

Duty Recap

Thursday 160904

Every month, we would have our weigh taken for calculation of our Body Mass Index (BMI). This morning, I went on the weighing scale and I came in at... 47kg! That is a kilogram increase from the previous round! You must understand, it is extremely difficult for little old me to gain any weigh. A whole kilogram increase is such an encouragement to my weigh gaining regime.

Stressed out this morning. Somehow, something special always happen whenever I am the Company Orderly Sergeant (COS). I was told I was taking a long time in getting the attendance taken. How dare anyone say that! I figured I am one of the fastest guy around. Then I was late for the 8:45am meeting. I was arrowed by MSG See (fuck him) to send a soft copy of the attendance list for the unit's cohesion day to him. I thought I would do that real fast and get it over with but it took me longer than expected. I went for the meeting late then got ticked off again. Though not harshly, I pride myself in being faultless in my work.

After the meeting, the responsibilities of detailing the men on their jobs fell on my shoulders after Daniel knocked out. More work to be done...

Finally after the morning rush had died down, I took a little break. All the guys had gone into the depot after my arrowing. Haha.

Peace and quiet. Hah.... bliss..

Decided to do some area cleaning in the guard room. Sweep the floor, clean the table, clear the rubbish. Something to occupy time. Nearly lunch time, gotta work up an appetite for the poor cuisine on offer. Not a bad one today. Ate the vegeterian ration while reading Archie comics. =)

Its a rainy day. All afternoon work cancelled. Not much work left to do anyway. Nice cooling day. Great for slacking.

Bread and butter for dinner. Although tonight's menu is fish and chips but I don't find it appetising. Ate two pieces of bread plus a donut. Not exactly a healthy dinner but will do on duty nights.

Wednesday, September 15

Mid Week

Just came back from camp. It rained half the day today. No work in the afternoon due to Cat 1.

Gonna do some decoration on the sidebar. Yes I know... it is a bit boring. But I got no time to make the changes just yet. Maybe with some free time tonight, I could do something about it.

Fell asleep in camp today. Fell asleep in camp yesterday too. It is quite surprising to me. Let me explain. I fell asleep in a comfy arm chair in an air-conditioned quite office. That would appear to be unsurprising to many people but not so to me. Why? Because I have never fall asleep that way before. Even in secondary school to polytechnic. I find such a sleeping position to be very uncomfortable. I must be very tired to be able to sleep that way. And indeed I am feeling very tired this few days. I even missed the Champions League match this morning. My favourite team Arsenal won PSV Eindhoven courtesy of an own goal.

Haven't been talking to my parents lately. No, we didn't quarrel. Its just that I had been out late recently. My mum sleeps at around 11:30pm while my father stays in his room after 12 midnight to finish his loose ends from work. I have been wanting to discuss with them my future after I ORD. The registration period for SIM's IT course for February 2005 ends later this month. The full time degree will take me two years and about twenty thousand dollars (I get one year's exemption for having a relevant diploma) to complete. Another option would be studies at a private local university at around 15 thousand dollars and one year's time.

Of course I could start work immediately but my parents have been expecting me to continue studying after service. I do not mind working full time or otherwise. I think I would be working part time when I am on either full time course. Well.. i still have to earn my keep, shoudn't I? I have been depending on my good parents for long enough now. I have not been relying so heavily on them since I entered service thanks to the measly but self-sufficient monthly allowance.

I cant wait to fight for my future starting March 2005.

NDP Certificate

Just got my goodie bag from the National Day Parade. Along with that came what you see below. A nicely done up Certificate of Appreciation. Signed by Rear Admiral(NS) Teo Chee Hean. I didn't know you get this for helping out. Actually a few days of off would be greatly appreciated too.

Laminated and hung high on the wall.

Went out for a cup of coffee with Shijie and Alex today. Sat at Clementi MacDonald for a talk cock session. It is not very often that Shijie gets a night off. The three of us were fine with just sitting there and talk the time away. Alex was pretty enthusiastic about playing badminton so we arranged for a session on this Sunday. Shijie wasn't very keen so I think he would give it a miss. I was pretty keen to play too. Kind of like played three times in the past twenty days. Badminton is an easy and enjoyable sport and of course inspired by Ronald Susilo.

Anyone game for a round?

Mid Month

Its the festive season again. Mooncake Festival it is~!

I cant feel any of the festive spirit in the air though. Had been very busy in the first two weeks of the month. Can foresee the following two weeks would be very busy too.

Busy with what?

The first five days of the month had been the most enjoyable of the month. Went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From a Wednesday to a Sunday, its been great to escape camp for that many days. Next on the 7th to 9th of the month, I was away for range. Although it was military life, I got to siam work in camp. Duty last Saturday on 110904. What should be a very slack weekend duty turned out to be a day when all had to be on high alert. But of course I still slept the day through, haha.

It is now the middle of the month and I have five more duties to clear, including one this Saturday. Two weekend duties this month, both on Saturdays. Not so bad now that we are working five days week. Get to receive one day off for that Saturday duty. =)

Going to meet Tiffany & Co. this Friday. They are my ex-colleagues from IRAS. We have become a special group of friends since then. Should be a dinner plus chilling out session at Raffles Place. Last time I met them was half a year ago at Adrian's commission dinner at Swissotel. Saw Lijuan just now at WestMall. She was an ex-colleague too at IRAS. She is still going with that 'Superman' from IRAS! Wow! They started dating 5 years ago and then, I would not have bet my dollar on them still going strong now. That guy went for overseas studies in Australia for a couple of years. Never thought they could withstand the test of time, and distance. Wish them 'happily ever after'. Hell.. they could be married already for all I know..

For me.. marriage is like climbing Mount Everst and I have not reached base camp yet.

Little Baby Me

Found this pic when I was browsing through my image folders. Used to have this picture in my Friendster account. Cute eh? Haha. Probably about 1 yr plus ba.. I forget and cant really tell now. Anyway, this picture was taken in Lim Chu Kang. My grand parents used to live the kampong style in the very last rural areas in Singapore. I used to stay over on weekends and school holidays there. Times were passed happily and carefreely. Sia lahh! There was nothing to do there! I remember waking up in the morning with my cousin who was also staying over. We would literally stone outside the house on the wooden bench. We just stared into blank space for about ten minutes.

He still remember those moments. Haha. I wonder why we did that. I think it is similiar to now waking up in bed and just sitting on the bed for a half minute. Sort of like allowing the mind time to catch up with the body.

Listening to Energy's Zhi You Wo. A very nice and emotional song. If you look at the MTV, which happens to be the last before Toro leaves Energy, you would feel very emotional too. There were many rumours at that time as to why Toro left Energy. One of them was that Toro is the only member in the group which is not gay. No offence to Energy, their fans and gays. The MTV show Toro being moody and isolating himself from the group. Is it a coincident? Or do the directors know what was going on behind the scene already? ;)

Next track, not a very well-known song, Emil Chau's Shang Xin De Ge. It is quite a sad song, very emotional in it's lyrics and rythmn too. The MTV is about conflicts between couples of the same sex. Often, I think(base on whatever little knowledge I have), quarrels between couples of the same sex are far more emotional than normal. Because, I think, far more is at stake when one openly display their affection for mates of the same sex.

* The author would like to clarify that he is not gay. He still loves women only when it comes to that.

I want to ORD!!!!

The Master Sergeant at my camp has become increasing unbearable.

Top 10 reasons
  1. He is full of chickenshit*.
  2. He is inconsiderate.
  3. He earned the hatred of every men in the company.
  4. He smells of bad breath
  5. He apple-polish.
  6. He is lazy.
  7. He tasks all dirty work to junior personnels.
  8. He lacks judgement.
  9. He lacks communication skills.
  10. He lacks leadership.

May I ORD immediately? Haizz...

* chickenshit - chick-ken shiet; Chicken shit refers to behavior that makes military life worse than it need be: petty harassment of the weak by the strong; open scimmage for power and authority and prestide; sadism thinly disguised as necessary discipline; a constant ' paying off of old scores'; and insistence on the letter rather than the spirit of ordinances. Chickenshit is so called - instead of horse- or bull- or elephant- because it is small-minded and ignoble and takes the trivial seriously.

Range II

Just got back from range. Shot 24 out of 30. Should be marksman standard but as it is combat shot, the results are calculated based on the entire detail of 5 firers. My detail shot 95 out of 150, a very poor result. Only 63.3 percent hit. Our day shoot was an excellent 68 out of 75. But I guess we got cocky and under-estimated the difficulty of the night shoot. Our night shoot was poor to say the least, engaging only 27 targets out of a possible 75.

Feeling tired now, still got badminton session with camp mates tomorrow. Time to sleep! Seeya tomorrow.

Range

I would be away for range today and tomorrow.

Come and find me at Nee Soon 100m range. Haha.

I would be spending the night at Kranji Camp, which happens to be the camp Shijie works in too.

Was packing my stuff for the range when I couldn't find my ear plugs! Shit! Gotta borrow one fast!

Relationship

eXpressive: 4/10
Practical: 10/10
Physical: 7/10
Giver: 7/10

You are a RPYG--Reserved Practical Physical Giver. This makes you a 1950s Parent.

You are relentlessly patient, loving, generous and devoted. You are unflappable. If on some rare occasion you do raise your voice or say a swear word in anger, anyone around to hear it will remember it (and think it was funny). At the same time, you're very cute and charming, and even if you don't catch someone's eye at the beginning of the night you'll surely have their attention by the end.

Your calm, conservative nature conceals a passionate (and sexy!) heart.

You can have trouble bringing up problems, but your approach to conflict is calm and even-handed. The problem can be is that you are so busy worrying about your partner's satisfaction that you don't ensure your own. This can build up over time and make you restless. Despite your sexual nature, you are more likely to cheat emotionally than physically.

You tend to work out your frustrations in the bedroom. Depending on your partner, this can be an excellent strategy. You would be a great candidate to balance out an XSYT, but not a good match for an unappreciative RPYT.

You have an odd, ritualized vice that doesn't suit the rest of your persona -- like smoking a certain brand of cigarettes or drinking a certain kind of wine.

Kuala Lumpur Trip

D-Day

Board the coach from Golden Mile Complex to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at 10:00pm. Bought the tickets at the very last minute at 9:50pm! Lucky us taking a dangerous gamble. There were less than a dozen on board so I guess they could wait a while to earn our money. $23 per tix.

Water fountain taken at our half time break.

Evil cat charges at my camera.

We all knew there is something fishy out there..

Day 1

The coach brought us to Puduraya, the terminal for coaches stopping in Kuala Lumpur. It is about ten minutes walk to our hotel. We reached our hotel, Swiss Garden Hotel, at around 3:30am 020904. The earliest time they could let us check in was 8am so we had to wait that many hours before we could get our room.

10 mins in our hotel room and the room is messed up already!

Alex goes crazy.

Me looking at Alex doing his triple somersault.

Shijie pointing in the direction of a chiobu. Alex looks on.

First stop: Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

Fashion show in the middle of the large complex.

View of the 5 shopping levels.

Malaysia shows off their Grand Prix F1 replica.

Had a pit stop at a snack bar.

Moved on to the night market at Jalan Petaling aka Chinatown of K.L.

At Chinatown, we ordered many lighters. So many that the vendor did not have stock on hand to sell us. We made a RM20 deposit and was scheduled to collect them tomorrow. I bought a pair of shorts at RM15 and a small LED torch at RM20.

New clothes for clubbing at Warp Discotheque.

3 musketeers outside Warp.

Day 2

Me and Alex woke up at around 12pm. Haha. We were damn tired after the night out clubbing. Shijie was energetic though. He even made it to the morning breakfast. We planned to visit Mid Valley shopping centre today. It is quite a distance away from our hotel. The taxi ride would be about 30 minutes.

Radiant smiles all around for our second day.

Took teksi to Mid Valley Shopping centre, south of K.L.

They are not so back-dated afterall eh?

Yes, they are here too.

Local brand Breadtalk making it big on the international scene. I was quite surprised to find Breadtalk here.

Evidence of our presence.

Bodyshop promotion here in Mid Valley.

The Body Shop promoters are friendly, but I cant understand a word they are saying because I don't understand Cantonese!

I need more of that around me.

We were glad to be back after a tiring afternoon.

We went shopping at Carrefour and bought some essentiels back to the hotel room. Amongst them are durians. Haha.

Who left that shit on the table!?

No eating of durians in hotel rooms but we were Singapore ah bengs.

Arces of space in Kota Raya, a big shopping mall in Puduraya.

A street hawker strutting his stuff.

The above picture is taken along a street just opposite Chinatown. We bought mee from that Mr Nice Hawker. Earlier, we had collected our lighters. I got 2 while Alex and Shijie bought about 10 among them. I bought another 2 pairs of shorts at the same price each, RM15.

Day 3

No pictures on day 3. Why? Because my camera ran out of battery! It was already on low batt when I used it. Forgot to recharge it before the trip. Anyway all of us were tired on the last day and not in the mood for photo taking. We took the 5pm coach home. There was a big jam at about 500m from the Malaysia checkpoint. Sucks. I reached home at about 12:20am.

Stay tuned for the K.L. entry coming soon!

Lots of pictures guaranteed!

September's Activities

Finally.. took off from camp to prepare for my Malaysia trip today. Going to Kuala Lumpur tonight. Shijie wants to do some shopping over the last weekend of the Great Malaysia Sale. Alex is going to clear his leave anyway. While I had to sacrifice 1.5 days of leave to siam the happy hour at my unit.

W hatever it is, I am looking forward to going over again. Although it was barely a month since I had been there. Camp has become increasing undesirable a place to work in. With the departure of friends in Stanley and Zhenguo (they are clearing leave; ORD personnels) , not many closer ones are left to acompany me. Yunhong leaves camp early every Tuesdays to Thursdays for his course in accounting. Kelvin is the only other guy I look for in camp.

It is a busy month ahead. I have range on the 8th and 9th. That means I got to stay in Kranji Camp on the 7th. After which, I got duty next saturday. Guess what.. its the 11th of September! Heard the highest ranking officer in my formation is coming down to spot check. Lucky me..

Due to my busy schedule in the first third of this month, all my 6 duties are cramped in the rest of the twenty days. I will be on duty on two Saturdays, 11 & 18. On the last weekend which I do not have duty, there is the small matter of the Army Half Marathon. Although I am not going the full distance of 21km, I am still required to run the 'fun run' of 6km. Another time wasting event by the army in my opinion.

That sums up my activities forecast for the month.
